Lillie's obituary
Lillie Wideman, beloved matriarch and radiant spirit, passed on to her eternal rest on March 28, 2025. Born on June 16, 1941, she illuminated the lives of all those she met with her constant happiness, warmth, and inviting personality. As she moves onto her next life, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and beautiful memories.
Lillie's greatest joy in life was her family, including her daughters, and especially her cherished grandchildren. She is survived by her loving daughter, Raquel Marshall. Lillie was not just a mother and grandmother, but also a teacher, a friend, and a confidant. Through her life, she imparted valuable lessons to her grandchildren, most notably teaching them the intricate and therapeutic art of sowing.
She was a beacon of vitality and youthful spirit. Remarkably athletic, Lillie effortlessly matched the energy of her grandchildren, often running and playing basketball as if she was their age. Her playful spirit allowed her to build a unique bond with her grandchildren, who fondly taught her the latest dance moves. She also reveled in tranquil strolls to the duck pond, creating an array of unforgettable moments.
Her exceptional ability to connect with younger generations translated into her becoming an adoring 'Nana' to her five grandchildren and her great-granddaughter. These relationships formed an extraordinary part of her legacy of love, friendship, and family solidarity.
A service to celebrate Lillie's life will take place on April 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Baptist Church. Here, her loved ones will gather to honor a woman whose life was marked by love, generosity, and an unstoppable spirit that brought joy to all around her.
While Lillie's physical presence will be missed, her spirit lives on in the laughter of her grandchildren, the lessons she left behind, and the lasting impact of her kindness and loving nature.
