Lida's obituary
Lida P. Colucci, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born on September 21, 1942, in Lviv, Ukraine.
Lida spent her early years in Europe before immigrating to the United States, where she built her life and raised her family. She maintained a strong connection to her Ukrainian heritage throughout her life, which remained an important part of her identity.
Lida was deeply committed to education and lifelong learning. She earned three master’s degrees, including two from the University of Notre Dame, where she met Stephen Colucci, the father of her children. Her academic achievements reflected her intellectual rigor and dedication.
Throughout her career, Lida held several professional roles, contributing her skills and insight across disciplines. She concluded her professional life as a school therapist for Buchanan Community Schools in Michigan, where she was respected for her professionalism, compassion, and commitment to student well-being.
In addition to her professional work, Lida remained actively involved in the arts. She served as art director for Southhold Dance’s productions of The Nutcracker, supporting the program for many years. Her daughter Rya performed in these productions for over a decade, an experience that reflected Lida’s dedication to both the arts and her family.
She was a devoted mother to Daniel Colucci and Rya Williams, and a proud grandmother to Emily, Alex, Emma, and Caden. Her family was central to her life, and she took great pride in their lives and accomplishments.
Lida will be remembered for her intelligence, resilience, strength of character, and enduring commitment to education, the arts, and her family.
