Liana was an incredible woman – never shy to speak her mind and show the world how proud she was of Ilina. I was always amazed by her strong will and how true she was to herself. One memory that sticks with me is when she couldn’t understand why anyone would ever want to eat vegetarian borscht! (lol)…She will be missed dearly, but never, never forgotten.
Liana was a passionate scientist, a great teacher, and a dear friend. We shared 6 years of precious memory during my PhD at Georgia State between 2007 and 2013. She was so warm-hearted and taught me not only science and lab technologies but also life skills (driving, grocery shopping, etc.). Liana lived a life with passion. She was passionate about sharing her knowledge, discussing projects, connecting people, running in the woods, etc. Without her example, encouragement and support, I can barely imagine to have pursued an academic career post graduation. Liana, my dear friend, you will be deeply missed. Wish you rest in peace. I am forever grateful for your friendship and those loving memories.

Meeting Liana was akin to finding a second sister - we shared so much in common and kept on discovering more every time we saw each other which was often and always joyful despite the difficult last years of her treatment. Her friendship was the biggest gift Atlanta gave me, her loss is yet impossible to face. Rest in peace and loving memory my dear friend.

Liana was one of the first friends I met when I moved to Pine Lake.   She was gracious, warm, super intelligent, and funny, and I immediately felt at home with her.  I remember her explanations of the chemistry of human emotion, her wonderful cooking, and her love of the outdoors.  I remember how supportive she was of me.  I know I will always think of her when I walk through the wetlands.
Liana was a beautiful soul. I feel so fortunate to have known her. She showed such kindness to my daughter Katie. RIP my friend❤️

Liana and I met through Ilina and it's a recent memory where she organized a babyshower for her grandson Eddie. She was so graceful and kind, welcoming me to the incrowd of her family.

Ilina, James, Eddie our deepest condolences with your loss. Her memories and spirit will live on through you.

Love, Délia, Jeff and Isidoor.

Liana was a beautiful human being that gave birth and raised an incredibly strong and smart woman. I imagine the joy she must have had seeing her daughter become a mother herself.

May the memories of Liana live on through everyone that knew her.

I remember having your mom here for your wedding. We had such a fun laugh while we got our nails done before and we were drinking champagne enjoying our time. She was so easy to talk with and laugh. It was so clear how much she loved you. And you little sister was there with us having fun. It was a memorable salon visit to celebrate you Ilina with your mom!
Liana was such a warm and inviting perso. Every time I met her she made me feel super welcome and was so down to earth. She will be missed.
Liana always opened her home to me when Ilina and I were in high school. It was a safe place to share laughter, food, movies, teenage life. In junior year I started learning Russian. I will never forget standing in her kitchen while she and Ilina giggled (nicely) about the way I pronounced пожалуйста ❤️ She was so genuine and a wonderful human. She'll be missed on this earth deeply.

Liana was a wonderful lady and great neighbor. I was so happy that her daughter, son-in-law and her beautiful grandson were able to come visit her.  She will be missed.

So grateful to have met her and her family.  She was such a sweet spirit and so smart.  I know her community and family and friends will miss her always and my heart goes out to them.  She was a lovely magical person.

A beautiful woman so loving and caring she will be so missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Liana a wonderful friend and the best Mother in law to my Son James.

With much love Eleanor x
