Leslie's obituary
Leslie Banez, 67, of Moraga, CA, passed away on October 22, 2022 after a year-long battle with cancer.
Leslie was born in May of 1955 to Betty Anne Phillips and Allan Ross Devlin in Oakland, CA. After graduating from Campolindo High School, she went on to study at Brigham Young University. In 1980, she met Gale Banez and they wed in 1984, going on to have one child, Holly.
When Leslie had Holly, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. She did everything from volunteering with the PTA, hosting parties, and never missing any of Holly's sporting events. After 20 years of service at UC Berkeley, Leslie retired and went onto her second career as a VIP greeter for the San Francisco Giants. Whether she was a Girl Scouts leader or supporting her church, she made it her mission to enrich the lives of those around her.
Leslie was a passionate baker, avid reader, world traveler, board gamer, and history enthusiast and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in the stands with other season ticket holders at a San Francisco Giants game. We will miss her greatly. There will be a celebration of life on Friday, November 11th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Moraga, CA.
