Leroy's obituary

"Salt of The Earth"

Leroy Alan Tonn, 69, of Kennewick, Washington passed away unexpectedly April 18, 2021.

Leroy was born on March 31, 1952 to Herbert and Edverdean Tonn in Hutchinson, Kansas. After graduating from, and creating lifelong friendships at Haven High School, he went on to many new and exciting adventures as a young adult before settling down in his chosen profession as a farmer, primarily in the Tri-cities area. He would do until his retirement in 2012.

In 1980 Leroy met Anita Armijo, and they wed in 1981. They had 4 children, Jennifer, Derek, Lindsey, and Paris. Even though they decided to part ways, Leroy and Anita maintained a close friendship throughout his life.

It’s well known that Leroy made friends everywhere he went. He had a natural ability to make those around him smile. If you were in need, Leroy was the first to offer help. His kindness will never be forgotten.

Leroy had many gifts, but was especially passionate about music, and could often be found practicing on the piano for an upcoming church service.

He was the most loving father and Pompa a family could ask for. He had special bonds with all his children and grandchildren. Leroy was predeceased by his parents Herbert and Edverdean. He is survived by his children Jennifer (Peter), Derek (Whitney), Lindsey, and Paris (Matthew). As well as his grandchildren Cecilia, Dylan, Taylor, Jacob, Haley, Rain, Nora, and Goldie.

There will be a Celebration of Life on May 2nd, 2021 @ 2pm, at Messiah Lutheran Church 291 Loen Drive Mesa, Washington 99343
