Leroy's obituary

In Loving Memory of Leroy “June” Jacobs, 75

Leroy Jacobs, known as “June” and “Cowboy,” passed away on October 30, 2025, at the age of 75. A resident of Virginia Beach, Virginia since 2009, Leroy was born in Houston, Texas on August 23, 1950, to the late Sarah Ann Jacobs and Leroy Jacobs Sr.

Leroy grew up in Roxbury, Massachusetts, where he attended both Catholic and public schools. Throughout his life he held many occupations—limousine driver, musician, dispatcher, and mechanic—embodying the true spirit of a jack-of-all-trades. If something was broken, Leroy could fix it. If someone needed help, he was already on his way. He devoted his life to lending a hand, sharing a smile, and doing whatever he could to keep the people around him happy. Saying “no” simply wasn’t in his nature.

His passing is a great loss to our family and all who loved him. He will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever cherished.

Leroy leaves behind two sisters, Cheryl Brown and Stella David; his children Kita, Chris, Nicole, Lena, Symphony, Michael and Tia; and a host of aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will continue to hold his memory close.

“God saw you were getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered, ‘Come to me.’

A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.”
