Lee's obituary
Lee D Cowling of Big Lake Alaska passed away June 8, 2022 at the age of of 58 due to multiple health issues including congestive heart failure. Lee was surrounded by his sister Kelly, brother-in-law Nick and many of his nieces and nephews. Lee’s sisters and brother in OR and WA were able to say their goodbyes via phone which was held to Lee’s ear.
Lee was born and raised in Portland OR growing up in the Sellwood neighborhood. In the mid 1970’s as a youth, Lee was an active member of the Sellwood Boys Club as well as Sellwood-Morland Little League; both for many years. Lee always loved playing group sports which also included football with his many friends.
Lee had a long 35+ year career in the restaurant field as Prep Cook, Souse Chef, Kitchen Manager in different stages of his career in many Portland OR, SW Washington and Wasilla AK higher end restaurants until his health issues forced him into a disability retirement.
Lee is survived by his son Brandon Lee Cowling, sisters Toni Cooper, Carla Feasler, Lisa Thomas, Kelly Malidore and brother Scott Cowling as well as many nieces and nephews.
Lee was a humble man and is deeply missed by his family, friends and all who loved him.
Memorial for Lee will be held in Big Lake Alaska on Saturday July 2nd at 3:00p AKDT, 4:00p PDT and will be live streamed via Facebook on Kelly Malidore page.
