U. S. Air Force Leotis, 97 passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family at his Topeka, KS home on September 20, 2025. Leotis was a decorated veteran who served in World Word II, Korean War and spent another 12 years in the reserves. Leotis was born on January 1, 1928, in Baxter Springs, KS to his parents Bud, Margret Willis. When he was just 15 years old, Leotis decided he wanted to join the U.S. AirForce and was stationed at JBSA in San Antonio, Tx. Leotis would go on to serve in the war with some of his closest friends Melvin Frank, Paul Williams, Eddie Ken and Al Bird. After serving in war, Leotis spent time abroad in Dubai. During his time in San Antonio, Tx, he met and fell for Latoya Hughes, who he soon had children with. Leotis and Latoya chose to settle in the town of Topeka, Ks. After moving to Topeka, Ks, Leotis started working at Capital Belt and Supply. He worked at Capital Belt and Supply for 55 years. When he wasn’t working, Leotis had a passion for cooking, baseball, basketball and football. Leotis was predeceased by Bud, Margret Willis (Parents), Latoya Hugues (His children's mother.
