It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Leonie Lisa Long, who left us peacefully on November 4, 2025. Born Leonie Lisa Zylstra on March 25, 1965, Leonie crafted a life filled with love, creativity, and profound kindness.
Leonie was a dear wife to her surviving husband, Johnny Long, and a cherished mother to her children Sundia Zylstra, Remi Zylstra, and Jurlique Zylstra. She was predeceased by her son Audi Zylstra, and her parents Jan Zylstra and Siebertje Salzman.
Leonie leaves behind a sister, Monique Zylstra, and her memory will be carried forward by all her loved ones. Her life was characterized by her adventurous spirit, her contagious laughter, and her boundless capacity for love.
Leonie's soul found joy in creating art, one of her favorite recreational activities. She loved running, found solace in the calmness of Bali, her favorite vacation spot, and enjoyed the flavors of Thai food in addition to her favorite drink, cranberry juice.
Her friends and family fondly remember Leonie's unique and vibrant personality; she was artistic, creative, witty, and endlessly fun. Her enduring legacy is one of kindness, love, and true friendship.
Some of her greatest accomplishments include being a talented multi-media artist, an infant swimming instructor, a college graduate and the intimate and invaluable roles she played as a mother and wife.
