Len and I were both assigned to the Headquarters company of the 330th Radio Research Field Station in the II Corps operations area of Vietnam.  We didn't work directly together but were barracks neighbors.  He was deemed "essential personnel" by our commanding officer and kept "in-country" while I was sent back stateside 88 days early from my one year "tour".  We were eventually reunited at Fort Hood (Texas) where I finally got to meet Mariann and we got to know one another better.  We've been great friends ever since.
