Leonard Hayden Zlomke of La Porte, TX passed away at his home on September 16, 2023 at the age of 70.

Leonard was an avid fisherman and an active grandfather. His perfect day could best be described as having a beer in one hand and a fishing pole in the other, surrounded by his family. He had an infectious smile and loved the Dallas Cowboys, Schlitz beer, and his grandkids. You would often see him at one of his daughters’ homes as he all but lived in their backyards. Born and raised in La Porte, Leonard never missed a single Sylvan Beach Day festival and was a lifelong advocate for its continued role in the community.

Leonard is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Doris Zlomke and his late wife, Rose.

He is survived by his two daughters Nicole Cook and Tiffany Rodriguez, along with their husbands Leonard Cook and Matt Rodriguez; his 11 grandkids - Matthew, Taylor, Ashlyn, Brett, Peyton, Cade, Sophia, Ty, Isabelle, Colton, and Shane; great granddaughter Nileena; his siblings - Linda, Beverly, and Charlton; and many other friends and family whom he loved dearly.
