I've known Leon for a long time. Leon and his right hand, Michael, were benefit brokers. Couldn't have asked for a better team. Leon was all personality and very sharp with a conservative mindset. Michael kept him honest with his numbers and knowledge of the markets!!! We put Leon up in front of employees and he would "entertain" while educating. People just adored him. He worked to help them do what was best for them, and they all knew it. Couple that with his infectious laugh and personality, and he was a big hit. He and I hit it off personally as well with our mutual love of family, God and Country. Oh, the conversations we had. When the brokerage was approached to be bought, we talked at length about the cultures of some of the possible buyers. When the business sold, Leon was so thrilled to be able to nest egg for his beloved girls and his wife. He loved his parents, his wife and his girls more than any other thing in his life and talked about them endlessly. His devotion and simple acknowledgement of his faith was the basis of his drive to spread happiness and joy wherever he would go. I've never met a man who had his troubles but never let them take his friends or his customers down. He was a true gem and filled this world large. It's impossible to not miss him, because he glowed and brought light. I know it is hard to lose someone who is that "large," but the opportunity and blessing of knowing Leon and knowing his warm ways is somehow worth the pain of his move to the party in heaven.

I met Leon over 25 years ago when he was my NYLCare sales rep. He was such an amazing friend to me over the years. It's hard to explain to those that had never met him just how remarkable of a person he was. He touched so many lives and was so full of life. ALL THE TIME.
God truly gained an angel. I will miss him dearly. So much love to all of you. xo

Thinking of Leon's family and friends as you celebrate his amazing life. The world was a better place because he was in it. We know Jesus said "Well done my good and faithful servant. "You have been faithful over a little ; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master." Leon leaves behind a wonderful legacy for all who were blessed to know him. May your wonderful memories of times spent with him, comfort you and give you peace. Praying for Gods peace, comfort and presence to be with all of you.

Jean and the girls: we are so very saddened by the loss of Leon. Our prayers are with you and for Leon's eternal life. He became a close friend to many of us in such a short period of time. I will miss the random texts from him and his enthusiasm, especially around our trivia team and the Freedom Boat Club. I will miss seeing him on the water. He was a special man and friend to all of us.

Dear Poppy and girls- sending love and hugs. I will be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers. Leon was so special to so many. He will be truly missed. My favorite memory was when he was DJ for our wedding. He was a DJ for many of us Alpha Gams. He was definitely an honorary squirrel man! May your memories live on and May he RIP. Love, Tina & Steve Vasbinder

I met Leon when he was a sales rep for Destiny Health Insurance. He was the most charismatic person I've ever met. I also had the pleasure in seeing him in Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat and Beauty and the Beast. I left the agency I was with and Leon and I kept in touch.
I'm so very sorry for his family's loss 💔
