Leon's obituary
Leon served his country as a captain in the US Army Reserves. He worked as an umpire with the Southwest Tennis Umpire’s Association and as an umpire on the USTA national circuit as well as at Wimbledon. He then became a caretaker for his youngest son, Jerry, who would precede him in death due to complications from kidney disease. Leon dedicated a large part of his life to serving other people.
He will be dearly missed by his surviving children, Robin Eppars, Misty (Jay) Langla and Leon (MaryBeth) Lipp, Jr. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tiffany (Avis) Bourg, Blas (Robin) Pereyra, Joe (Michelle) Pereyra, Sarah (David) Elkin, Michael Pereyra, Stanley (Ashley) Parker, Stephen (Amy) Parker, Meliah (Stephen) Lindsay, Julie (Curtis) Fullmer, Eric (Abagail) Lipp, Adam Lipp, Leon (Nikita) Lipp, III, his nephews John (Dawn) Thomas, and Bryan Janda, 25 great-grandchildren, grand nephews and nieces, and numerous other family and friends.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his children, Billie Lipp (nee Boyd), his son, Jerold, niece, Dawn Alice’ Thomas (Janda), Dixie (Lipp) Thomas and his son-in-law Jimmy Eppars.
The family will be having a private gathering on November 7, 2021 to celebrate his life.
