Leo's obituary
Born in Georgetown, British Guyana 9 January 1935. “Leo” Massay Emigrated to Washington DC to study at Howard University. He received his BA, Howard University School of Architecture & Planning Class of 1964. In 1986, Leo became a U.S. citizen and permanently settled in Atlanta Ga.
Married at Howard University on 2 October 1966 to June Lynette Massay, his lovely wife of 55 years and left behind four children Lance, Marc, Michael & Charisse.
A passionate designer and builder, Leo’s career spanned 40 years beginning with private sector Architecture firms in New York City. Leo transitioned into Construction Management and worked with The Port Authority of New York, New York State Urban Development Company and The Model Cities Housing Administration.
After 20 years of service in Atlanta as a Regional Vice President at Citicorp Real Estate Inc, Leo founded his private consulting company MCMCI retiring in 2006. His client list included Citicorp, First Southern Bank, Citizens Bank, Clark / Atlanta University and Ebenezers Baptist Church.
With his Lynette by his side, Leo transitioned on 13 May 2021. His passions included travel, photography, and classic Jazz. He held professional affiliations with the Atlanta Urban Bankers Association (AUBA), National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA), Rotary International Buckhead Club and Knights of Columbus at St. Peter Chanel, Roswell Georgia.
