Leland Dexter White, 67, of Norridgewock was granted his angel wings on May 27, 2019. He was surrounded by his family and friends in the final days of his life. He was born in Woolwich, Maine to Milo and Muriel Wellman White. He attended school at Lee Academy in Lee, ME. Leland started his life working with his father and a pair of horses in the woods hauling logs. Leland was a woodsman by trade and spent many years working in the woods, along with working on potato farms, and in chicken barns until his health changed. His love of life was family, hunting, camping, fishing and always being there for his loved ones when they needed support or advice.
Leland was predeceased by his parents Milo and Muriel White. As well as his siblings Cecil, George, Meldon, Clifton White and Wanda Young, Ruth Gusha, Mildred Nobel and June Hanson.
Leland is survived by his wife Jane White, his soulmate and best friend, and his Brother Rolland White. His daughters Susan and Paul McAlpine, Charlie and Elwood Stintson, Sherry and Clayton Gildden, Tina White, Bobbi-jo White and Matt, Brandee Keith. Leland has 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He has two special brother in laws, Chip Cole and Karen Andre, and Denny and Joyce Cole. Brother in law Neil Cole and sister in law Una and Mike Spencer.
Leland loved life and loved his family and always had a great sense of humor and was a jokester. Leland was always busy, and was particular with the way he liked things and believed the “Right way” was the “White way”. He was the glue that held our family together. He was supportive and caring to the needs of all his loved ones.
The service and celebration of life for Leland will take place on June 22, 2019 at 1:00pm at his home that he shares with his wife Jane at 412 Smithfield Road in Norridgewock. All that knew Leland are welcome to stop by to Celebrate the amazing soul that he was.
