Music was such an integral part if our lives. Leif beating on those drums... Making mixed tapes... Two for token...cruising main street in Chris' van... Liefs firebird. Godspeed my friend.

Leif’s interests changed through his life just like they do with all of us. When he was younger, he liked to play with Weeble Wobbles, read comic books and read Mad Magazine. Leif never was very interested in school work, and had he applied himself could of go much better grades. However, he was very interested in the girls, and they him. I remember him falling asleep on the phone while girls talking to him. Then later he got into jazz band, and he played drums at home all the time, he loved it, and he was good. He taught himself and picked it up all by ear. Later on he became interested in watching movies in his free time. He was good at detailing cars. He enjoyed the company of his cat Elwood. He enjoyed listening to music. When cell phones came out, opened a whole new world for him. He enjoyed Facebook and had the best Memes. When he married Regina he enjoyed things he had never experienced before , he was a husband and a step- father to 3. He talked of going to west Siloam Springs with Regina and getting coffee “at their place” with a big smile on his face. Showing pictures of his step-daughter Laney in her prom dress with a proud look on his face. Once separated from Regina he moved in by the church he attended and became even more involved in going to church , going to Thursday evening services as well as Sunday morning. And he now enjoyed the company of 4 cats, who he was very loyal to.

While I never met Leif  in person, he and I connected after he found me on Facebook. I joined his group and thought it was so cool to know someone with the same name. RIP Leif 😔. Gone too soon.

Leif has really struggled in his life. He has battled with drugs since losing his mom at an early age who he was very close with. He finally got straight with the help of his wife Regina. A year ago his father who he was close to passed away. After 7 years with Regina they divorced and two months ago she passed away. He became more active in the church despite his losses. He was doing well. And an unexpected medical complication made him pass away. It’s just so hard and not fair….
