Lee Ann Huang, born Yu Lee Huang in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, brought light and joy to the lives of those around her. With a heavy heart, we announce her passing on July 24, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Lee Ann lived a life filled with passion, determination, and devotion to her family and loved ones.

Lee Ann was preceded in death by her first husband, John H. Gelert Sr., her parents, Ke Yung Huang and Su-Yu Huang, two brothers, and one sister. She is survived by her 6 children, 10 grandchildren, two sisters, and her second husband.

In her early life, Lee Ann obtained a nursing degree in Taiwan, demonstrating her dedication to caring for others that continued with her throughout life. After immigrating to the United States, she continued to strive and achieved multiple nursing aide certifications, grooming licenses and established multiple entrepreneurial businesses. Throughout her life journey, Lee Ann spent meaningful periods in different parts of the United States. From Farmington, MO, Kansas City, KS, and Los Angeles, California. Finally, she found her haven in San Diego, California, where she embraced the hiking with her family, sunsets and the ocean breeze.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lee Ann's greatest source of pride and joy were her children, Linn Gelert, Joy Long, Amy Smith, John Gelert Jr, Kimberlee Sanpanghila, and Mai Lynn Che, She cherished each moment spent with them, instilling in them the values of love, resilience, and compassion. Lee Ann also carried with her a deep faith, believing that God was always watching out for her and her family. This belief was a source of strength and comfort, guiding her through challenges as she reminded us to be grateful for life’s little moments.

Lee Ann knew how to embrace life fully. She found happiness in simple pleasures, whether it was dancing, singing, boxing, or fishing. She had an adventurous spirit, trying new things and savoring delicious foods. Her zest for life was contagious, and she left an indelible mark on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her while her radiant smile and open heart endeared all those she met on her journey through life.

Lee Ann's legacy of love, kindness, and strength will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. Though she may be physically absent, the memories of her laughter, warmth, and love will endure through generations.

As we bid farewell to Lee Ann, we take solace in knowing that she is now in the loving embrace of God, watching over her family from above. Her presence in our lives was a gift, and she will be loved, cherished, and remembered always.

May her soul find eternal peace as she joins the dance of life in the heavens above.
