Leah's obituary
Leah was born on November 30, 1987 in Seoul, South Korea. She attended both Blaine and Andover High Schools and graduated from Bethel University with degrees in Communications and Music in 2009. Throughout her education, Leah pursued training as a classical violinist. After graduating college she worked for City Pages, a local Minneapolis newspaper. Her love for artistry and creativity drew her attention to the music community in Minneapolis. Leah is well known by her stage name LOTT, an accomplished solo artist. She shared her musical talent collaborating with many top musicians. Leah played with bands and artists including: Dessa, Mark McGee, Andrew Bird, Jacob Pavek, We are the Willows, Rogue Valley, Andrew Broder, batterboy, Jeremy Messersmith, POLICA, FOG, Father John Misty and many others. Leah continued refining her talent as an innovative violinist and multitalented singer-songwriter and performer through her work in the Twin Cities and beyond.
Leah made City Pages’ “Best Of” list two consecutive years being named best acoustic performer in 2015 and best vocalist in 2016.
In her spare time Leah loved keeping up with sports especially the Green Bay Packers. Leah was devoted to her family and friends and was known for her fun loving sense of humor, outstanding culinary talents and her generosity. Leah is cherished by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her parents, Tom and Mary; siblings, Jessica, Gabriel, Michael (Betsy) and Aaron all of MN; Grandparents Tom and Dorothy Rudolph and Otto and Beverly Ottman all of Rhinelander, Wisconsin; a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins and special friend Rick Vaicius. Leah was preceded in death by her uncle and Godfather, Robert Ottman.
