It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of the matriarch of our family, Lea Saarinen, on September 2, 2023, shortly before her 73rd birthday. Lea was born on September 9, 1950, and throughout her life, her warm, caring, helpful, and loving nature touched the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.

Lea's legacy will continue to thrive through her daughters: Jennifer Saarinen, Kristina Carlson, and Natalie Kohler. The values she instilled within them will be passed down to future generations. Lea's memories will be cherished by her grandchildren: Sven Saarinen, Kristal Carlson, Koral Saarinen, Luke Carlson, Olivia Wollard, Alayna Stanford, and Ronald Walicki, who were fortunate enough to experience their grandmother's abundant love and kindness.

Lea’s life was a living example of one of her favorite teachings: "Love everyone, even though there are differences." Those words, conveyed through her actions every day, have resonated deeply within our hearts. Her unwavering acceptance and love have left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

As we mourn Lea's departure from this earthly existence, we find comfort in the knowledge that she is now sharing the love of the Lord with her beloved husband. Her spirit, her teachings, and her love will live on within us, forever reminding us of the exceptional woman we were blessed to know.
