Larry easily became an integral part of our lake culture in Orono.  He was a sweet and kind gentleman.  We will miss him.

I was so sad to hear of Larry’s passing.  In 1957 and 1958, I was lucky enough to work on the farm with my brother Dick and Larry… helping Phip and Roger paint a huge henhouse…picked eggs on the range along with the occasional egg fight, helped with chicken Barbecue’s at local camps…and there was always the late afternoon waterskiing. It was such a special time!

Great memory of hosting Helen and Larry at Fenway Park where we had their names put up on the Jumbotron. There were so happy!

Our Grandmother was Flossie’s sister and the Morse family always felt extraordinary close to the Thurrell family… a wonderful family!

We will miss them always,

Love to the entire Thurrell family

Phil Morse

Our deepest condolences go out to the entire family. May God comfort and bless you all.

Marian and the entire Thurrell family, my condolences go out to each of you in the loss of your Dad.  Though I never worked directly with Larry, he always was so kind and friendly when our paths crossed at work.  May Larry now R.I.P.
The Morse family is saddened by t he loss of Larry and send our condolences to the entire Thurrell family. We all have such fond memories of the many years we spent with all the Thurrells at the farm on Cotton Mt......too many to list but Larry is the last of the four brothers and we will miss him. Our summers of work and play with Uncle Bob, Flossie et al will always hold a special spot for such an education re chickens, cows, haying and painting the hen houses......as well as having some fun when the work was done.

Our condolences to the Thurrell Family. I have fond memories growing up in the neighborhood and having them as neighbors. As a member of FOHL, Larry was a great supporter and influence.

I'm so sorry to hear about Larry.   For years we played nickle-dime poker every month.  Larry was a great player and I can still see his smile when he bluffed a pot.  I will miss him.
Lars and Family: I immediately felt a sense of heartbreak upon learning of your Father's passing.  You and your family mean quite a lot to me and I am saddened at the loss in your lives.  I am hopeful that all of the wonderful memories built over the years will provide comfort to all of you as a celebration of your Dad's life.
Larry was an incredibly kind person and will be missed.  I’m grateful to have known him.
We are so pleased to contribute to Larry’s bench at the park… such a wonderful way to remember him…

We will miss Larry so much at Pushaw Lake… he was a good friend, a great conversationalist, and Jim loved fishing with him .. he was so kind and thoughtful …. He just felt like family from day 1 …… it was a honor to have known him…. Rest In Peace dear Larry, and please watch over us all at the Lake..

Larry was a fine man and good person.

a friend to all

he enjoyed a good  laugh and had a dry wit  and keen sense of humor

he will be missed but not forgotten by those who knew him

I am offering my sincerest condolences to Marion and the entire Thurrell family.  I will always cherish my career at HIMONT mainly due to the wonderful people I worked with and Larry was at the top of the list.  He was a class act and a true gentleman.  Great memories.  He’ll be missed.

Lars and Family - It sounds as if your Father lived a full life and was a great man. I am sorry to learn of his passing. Hopefully you and your entire family are doing as well as possible. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.

Respectfully,

Matt Jamison

I adored Larry. At my ripe old age of 14, I was sure he meant it when he said "he'd wait for me". Well, let me tell you, the first time I met Helen I told her I hated her because she stole "my" Larry from me. Many years of playing backgammon, water skiing, and visiting have passed since then and I still love them both.
