Background
Even if Larry has, in his words, stopped looking at the grass, that doesn't mean the rest of us should stop seeing the trees. Larry was a proponent of being active, exploring the outdoors, and serving as stewards of our neighborhoods, both in the people and the natural environment.
To share that legacy, we would like to raise funds for the Auburn Valley State Park, a park that abuts the yard where he and Helen hosted so many gatherings of family and friends and serves to both remind people of the history of the area as well as protect and nurture the local flora and fauna. These generous donations will help place a memorial bench in the park, and funds beyond that will plant trees around the park.
So please, in lieu of flowers no longer connected to the earth, let us all remember Larry through giving people a place to sit and reflect both on his life and legacy and the beauty of the world he so clearly saw in everyone and everything around him. We can all rest a moment with his memory as he rests in peace. Contribute
