Larry's obituary

Larry was born in Glasgow, Scotland on November 16th, 1939 to

John Rankin and Annie Kelsey. He was blessed with seven siblings, Jack, Joseph, Sidney, Tony, Carol Ann, Maureen and Rosie. Their bond was unbreakable.

Upon leaving school Larry enlisted in the Royal Air Force and served in Cyprus as a cook from 1957 – 1962, where he learned and excelled at his trade. He always told his family “ it was the most beautiful place in the world.” Emigrating to Canada in the 1960’s.

Once in Canada, Larry worked in catering in various settings - prisons, hospitals, businesses, mining camps and in the education field. He loved travelling, seeing new places and meeting people. He was a social man. He will be missed dearly by one of his best buddies Ted. L.

Larry enjoyed life more than most these days and was always happy to meet new and old friends. His sharp and enquiring mind always kept the people he met on their toes! He enjoyed watching sports on television, singing and dancing and also enjoyed playing golf with friends.

Larry is survived by his loving wife and best friend Janet and daughters Annie-Kelsey, Lesley and stepchildren Lynn and Jasen. Also he will be missed by his grandchildren Paisley, Brittney, Dylan, Jennie, Amanda, Liam Lawrence, (Jasen and Lynn’s Children - Ian, Michelle, and Siobhan and Justin).

He is predeceased by his daughter Kim who he loved and missed dearly.
