Larry's obituary
Lawrence Gene "Larry" Miller, born April 14, 1945 in Long Beach, CA was finally set free from his battle with Alzheimer's Disease on May 24, 2023. Larry lived a life filled with laughter, adventure, and a deep love for his family. He is survived by his loving spouse, Mary Lou Miller, daughter Carrie Camargo (Tim), son Cameron Miller( Hildegard), step-daughter Elise Pizarro (Carlo), sisters Cathy Miller and Lorrie Lovan as well as his loyal , loving Caregiver Manuel Montijo.
Larry is also survived by seven living grandchildren TJ Camargo, Evan Sarti, Mikael Miller, Alison Dawson, Ethan Sarti, Carmin Miller and Cassie Miller. Larry was predeceased by one grandson, Branden Camargo. There are five great grandchildren as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Larry was a man whose legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. Throughout his life, he encouraged his children and grandchildren to always strive for excellence. As the first in his family to graduate from college while working full time. After a successful career in Sales Management for E&J Gallo Wines, Larry spent another twenty years as a business owner of a Management Training Company, Priority Management.
In remembering Larry, the first thing others mention is his laugh! He had a great sense of humor and loved nothing more than sharing his love for Lake Tahoe with his family and friends.
Larry enjoyed sports of all kinds whether as a spectator or a player. He was especially fond of playing tennis since it was through tennis that he met Mary Lou, the love of his life at age forty. They went on to enjoy tennis, snow skiing, bowling and later golf together ,forming lifetime friendships through sports.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Disease Association of Kern County or Hoffman Hospice. The support and encouragement of these two organizations has been invaluable to the family.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 30th at 2pm at Greenlawn SW Bakersfield Chapel followed by a Celebration of Life at the family home.
