Larry's obituary

Lawrence "Larry" Lee Gottschalk, 86, sadly passed away on October 2, 2021 in Pennsylvania surrounded by family members.

Larry was born to parents Wendelin and Monica Gottschalk on January 23, 1935. He is one of nine children, survived by his brother Valentine Gottschalk and his sister Wilma Baier. Larry has seven children with his belated wife, Juanita "Marie" Gottschalk. He has 16 grand kids, 30 great grandkids, and 3 great great grandkids and counting.

Larry was a roofer from the age of 14 until he physically couldn't do it at the age of 75. His brothers and him created the company Gottschalk Brothers Roofing, Inc. in 1955 in Wichita, Kansas. He met the love of his life in Derby, Kansas in 1954 and married two years later in 1956. His passion was working on and building vehicles from the frame up. He had a few other leisure hobbies such as visiting the local casinos, bars, shooting pool, playing poker with family, and fishing. Larry was quite the social butterfly, always meeting new people and instantly becoming friends. He was always up for a good conversation and an ice cold Bud Lite.

His wish was to be cremated, as was his wife. They both wanted their ashes scattered over the Colorado Rocky Mountains. We will fulfill that wish in the near future for both Larry and Marie. Family and friends will be notified when arrangements have been made.

His smile and kindness will be dearly missed for years to come.
