It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Lawrence Bailey Sr., who left us on September 11, 2023. Born on September 3, 1938, Lawrence was a beacon of light and warmth to all those around him he lived a full and vibrant life, leaving behind an indelible legacy of kindness and generosity. A loving father, grandfather, and brother, his contagiously funny personality will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Lawrence was predeceased by his beloved wife Amanda Bailey, whom he married in the beautiful year of 1960. Their love story was one to tell. His wife's absence left an unfillable void in his heart, but he always found comfort and strength in his family. He also was predeceased by his father , fondly referred to as Charles Bailey Sr., a step father Eddie Marsh Sr. his mother Mary Francis Bailey -Marsh. Their memories live on in his heart and the hearts of those who loved them.

He is survived by his sister Patricia Marsh-Edinburgh, his son Lawrence Bailey Jr. ,his daughter Michele Bailey,and his adored grandchildren, Lawrence Bailey III, Niayonda Bailey, Natrelle Bailey and Ronnie Morgan. His beloved Great Grand Children Samira Bailey, Lawrence Bailey IV, Kamyri Green, and Azari Brown. Each and every one of them carries a piece of his heart, his wisdom, and his laughter.

We invite all who knew and loved Lawrence to a viewing to be held on September 22, 2023, at 9:00AM and funeral following at 10:00AM, at the Rhodes Funeral Home - Washington Avenue. As we mourn his departure, we also celebrate his life and the lasting impression he made on all of us. Lawrence's legacy is not only one of personal achievement but also of the profound impact he had on those around him. His spirit of kindness, warmth, and generosity will forever be remembered and cherished by his family and friends. Through our remembrance, his spirit lives on. He will be greatly missed, but his memory will forever be engraved in our hearts.
