Laurrie's obituary
Laurrie Ann Bell
September 13, 1959 – March 4, 2025
Our beloved mother, Laurrie Ann Bell, entered into God’s Kingdom on March 4, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on September 13, 1959, in Peru, Indiana, to Jerrell Louise LeJeune and Myra Lucille (Hattabaugh) LeJeune.
As a young girl, Laurrie was full of energy and a love for life. Some of her favorite activities included cheerleading, baseball, and gymnastics. She attended Western High School before furthering her education at Ivy Tech, where she earned a Technical Certificate in Computer Science.
Laurrie was a devoted mother and grandmother, a woman whose love knew no bounds. She had two daughters, Andrea Nicole Bell (daughter Lorelei Vivian Joan Francis, son Ricky Edward Burge) and Sarah Jean O’Neill (daughters Jillian Danielle Reneau, Kaelynn Grace Reneau, Josilynn Faith Guise, and son Wyatt Andrew Thomas Guise), who survive her. She also leaves behind many dear friends and co-workers who cherished her warmth, humor, and unwavering kindness.
Above all, Laurrie was a loyal servant of God. She loved our Lord Jesus Christ and was a dedicated member of The First United Methodist Church of Crawfordsville, Indiana. She found great joy in sharing the love and warmth of Christ with those around her.
Laurrie now joins her mother, Myra Lucille LeJeune; her brothers, Howard Louise LeJeune and James William LeJeune; and her beloved son, Joshua Andrew Che Bell, in eternal rest.
Laurrie loved spending time outdoors—whether swimming, hiking, or simply being with her grandchildren. She had a passion for arts and crafts, particularly stained glass, which she found both creative and calming. Throughout her life, she held many different jobs, from food service to banking to nursing, but her true calling was in caregiving, especially for those with special needs. She had a heart for helping others and would give the shirt off her back, even if it was the only one she had.
Laurrie was the life of the party, always bringing laughter and joy to those around her. You never knew what to expect from her—she had a mischievous spirit and a larger-than-life personality. She embodied the phrase, "Dynamite comes in small packages", and she proved that every day! Though she was small in stature, she possessed incredible strength, determination, and resilience. Her work ethic was unmatched—she could work circles around most men and never shied away from getting her hands dirty or trying something new. She will be greatly missed by many. There will be a celebration of life to come when the weather gets nicer out.
This is not goodbye—just "I will see you later."
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." – Jeremiah 29:11
