Laurie Beth "LB" Smith (Tye), age 45, passed away on March 30, 2025, in Antioch, Illinois. Born on August 20, 1979, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Laurie brought warmth and light to every place she called home.

Laurie was a devoted woman of faith whose life was guided by grace and purpose. She found joy in her church community and cherished the opportunity to serve others through fellowship and kindness. Whether she was organizing bake sales for local schools or opening her home for gatherings filled with laughter and love, Laurie’s generous spirit touched many lives.

She had a passion for knitting—each stitch a quiet testament to her patience and care. Her creations were more than just fabric; they were gifts of comfort and love shared with those around her.

Laurie’s greatest pride was her family. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Olivia Smith and Justice Brooks; her son Jamarai Cook; her granddaughter Alayah Brown; her brother Joseph Tye; and her sister Alexis Melby. Her beloved wife, Karrie Smith, and mother, Robin Melby, preceded her in death.

Laurie was a gracious woman who worked tirelessly to uplift those she loved. She believed deeply in the strength of family legacy and was determined that their talents and accomplishments would shine brightly.
