Laurie's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Laurie Leach, who peacefully left us on January 23, 2023. Born on April 27, 1960, Laurie's life was filled with love, laughter, and the joy of those around her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Laurie is survived by her loving partner, Billy Barfield, and her ex-husband, Charles Leach. She leaves behind a legacy of strong and beautiful women in her daughters, Rebecca Hauschulz, Victoria Leach, and step-daughter Shana Barfield-Bobbitt, as well as her deeply committed son-in-law, Nathan Hauschulz. Laurie's memory will be treasured by her sister, Lynette Becker, her brother, Justin Hoppal, and brother-in-law, Dale Becker. Her nephews, Harley Becker, and her step-children, John Barfield and Rachel Barfield, will also hold her dearly in their hearts.
Laurie's laughter and love for life will be remembered fondly by her adoring grandchildren, Achille Troyer-Leach, Myrical Leach-Troyer, Erika Leach, Johnathan Hauschulz, Maddie Barfield, Thomas Bobbitt, and Jack Barfield. She was predeceased by her father, Don Hoppal, her mother, Marge Osborn-Cody, her son, Brian Leach, her brother, Jay Hoppal, and her nephew, Mathew Becker.
A proud graduate of Sterling High School in Colorado, class of 1979, Laurie moved to Carrollton, Texas in 1994, where she created a beautiful life with her family. A Celebration of Life for Laurie was held on April 27, 2023, at 4:00 PM in Carrollton, where her loved ones came together to honor her memory and the indelible impact she had on all their lives.
Laurie's generosity, kindness, and unwavering support will be remembered by all who knew her. In this difficult time, we come together to celebrate her life, share our memories, and mourn the loss of a truly remarkable woman. May her spirit live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
