Lauren's obituary

Lauren Ann Ryansmith, 34, of North Chesterfield, VA passed away February 27, 2024, in her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was the loving wife of Joseph Ryansmith and mother to Scarlett Arielle Ryansmith. They were married on October 29, 2021, at Stokesay Castle in Reading, PA. Together they built a home for themselves and spent their free time exploring new adventures with each other while sharing everything.

Born in New London, CT, she was the daughter of Jerre B. Smith and Kelly A. (Burkhart) Matthews.

She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and her Associate's Degree Culinary Arts.

Lauren followed her dreams, becoming a baker in the kitchens at the Grand Floridian at Disney World Florida. She helped to build life size Gingerbread Houses alongside the many taste treats sold within.

Her friends and family were everything to her. She was an avid reader and enjoyed coloring. She took great pride in her decorating, cooking, and turning nearly everything into some form of Disney or Harry Potter.

In addition she is also survived by three younger siblings: Danielle, Alex, and Amber; all of which she helped to raise along with her maternal grandfather, Daniel Burkhart.

She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Patricia Mae Smith & Jerre B. Smith Sr., as well as her maternal grandmother, Cinda Lou Burkhart whom she had a special bond with.

A viewing will be held Monday, March 4, 2024, from 12 to 1 p.m. with a service to begin at 1 p.m. Location: Kuhn Funeral Home 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611. A burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. Condolences may be expressed at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
