Lauren's obituary
Lauren Roth, born on March 30, 1960, in Blue Island, IL, was sent to her eternal home on May 17, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona, after a short-lived battle with cancer.
Lauren was a bright light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was feisty and full of spunk, making all around her laugh with her wit and sense of humor. She wanted her obituary to be a funny one and was adamant that it include how she would not be present for her own funeral. She wanted to go out with laughter, and for all who knew her to celebrate rather than be sad.
Lauren’s journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unique spirituality. She was at peace with her terminal diagnosis when it came; and the fact that she was unafraid and embraced it, is a testament to her strength of spirit. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family and friends. Yet as Lauren would want, we ask that you remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the way her life was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Lauren is survived by her loving sister, Zing, and her beloved children, Ashley Roth and Kyle Roth. She also leaves behind her beloved A.A. community, including Christie, Kelly, and several others who she held near and dear to her heart. She was predeceased by her parents, Jeanine and Wally Zingelmann.
Those who knew Lauren will remember her for her infectious smile and strikingly beautiful blue eyes. She had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the American Cancer Society. The costs raised will go toward increasing cancer survival and early detection.
Although Lauren’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, her spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May her memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth her legacy of love and laughter in all we do, remembering to look on the bright side of things no matter what!
