With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Laura Maddox, who left us on August 19, 2016. Born on January 7, 1951, Laura lived a life full of love, warmth, and remarkable accomplishments.
Laura is fondly remembered by her daughters, Amy Taylor and Amanda Maddox, who will forever cherish the memories of their mother. Laura's spirit lives on through her granddaughters, Madison Maddox-Stinson and Leia Taylor, who were a source of immense joy and proud moments in her life.
Laura was predeceased by her parents, Leroy and Viuca Roush, and her dear brother, Steven Roush.
Known nationwide for her uncompromising taste, Laura savored flavorsome pancakes and bacon cheeseburgers. She enjoyed the refreshing sweetness of Diet Coke, which became her favored drink. If not enjoying her favorite food and drink, Laura could be found engrossed in gripping novels by Nora Roberts or Patricia Cornwell. These authors' worlds provided an enjoyable escape for Laura.
Laura's favorite tunes were by the legendary Garth Brooks, whose music provided the soundtrack to many of her life's memorable moments. A devotee of the classic TV show, Jeopardy, Laura’s wit and knowledge were often on full display during each episode.
Among her many achievements, Laura was particularly proud of her college graduation. This accomplishment, achieved through her grit and tenacity, spoke volumes about Laura's determination and strength of character.
Laura's indomitable spirit, love of life, and dedication to her family have left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her memory will live on, not only through her family, but in all the lives she touched during her time with us.
