Laura's obituary

I’m memory of my mama who brought laughter and light to everyone and anyone in need of a joyful spirit. Laura Lockshaw, born May 20, 1962, passed away peacefully with her daughter Annick Lockshaw and son Joshua Hichborn by her side on October 19, 2024 with loving embrace at Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa, California. Adored by family and friends, Laura was a beacon of laughter and resilience, leaving an everlasting impact on all the lives she touched. She lived her life fearless. Marked by love, joy, and determination.

Laura is survived by her daughter, Annick Lockshaw, and her two sons, Joshua Hichborn and Mathew Murray. Her strong family bonds extended to her siblings: Steve, Danielle, and George Hichborn. She was predeceased by her mother, Josette Hichborn, her sister, Annick Vierra, her nephew, Robert Vierra, and her brother-in-law, Jerry Vierra.

Laura found so much bliss bringing laughter and fun to any situation, always finding the humor in life and sharing that spark with those around her. She loved Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and going to Disney Land with her children in their young years. Tim McGraw’s music held a special place in her heart, always singing along on long car rides with her children. Her love for creativity was evident in her late night crafting and yearly engagement in craft fairs and Holiday bizarres.

With a deep rooted family history originating in Chaumont, France, where her mother Josette was born, played a large role in Laura’s undeniable art in French cuisine. Her ability to cook any dish from scratch with a keen understanding of French delicacies was a treat to be remembered. Cooking meals and inviting friends and family over regularly was a common event to share moments with those she loved. Often concluding the evening with rounds of backgammon, wine and homemade desert.

Her recreational activities spanned from fishing, crafting, exploring, and visits to water parks and camping. The blue of the skies in her favorite vacation spots like Petaluma KOA, Lawsons Landing, Putah Creek, Mt. Shasta, and Rogue River always had her planning the next exciting adventure.

Living life at its fullest and enjoying the ride was how she navigated her life. Her joyful and determined spirit filled every room she was in, and her memory will continue to inspire and bring smiles to many.

Laura's memory will always be cherished and missed. I will forever look out in the world and see the birds soaring, mist embracing the mountains and think that’s her reminding us all to find joy in every journey.

Until we meet again, you’ll always be within our hearts.
