Laura was my substitute while I was on bedrest preceding a maternity leave. When I would reach out to her, she would reply, “you rest, I have everything taken care of”. Her smile was genuine and her heart was selfless. I felt I had known her forever, yet I never worked with her a single day. An amazing woman that truly loved and lived. Now I can say, you rest, we will meet again.
Love, Mandy

To describe a person as special as Mrs. Bateman, is truly difficult. But what I will always remember the most, was the way she made me feel.
Mrs. Bateman had the most genuine and kind spirit. After meeting her one day during breakfast duty, I felt like I had known her for years.
She always put the other person first- in conversation, in service, in encouragement, and in love. I will forever remember her sweet spirit and strive to have more of her gentle nature.
I am so thankful I know where my friend is today. And I find peace in knowing I will see her again.
All of my love for her precious family and friends -Bethany Azar

My condolence to the family, God bless rest in peace Laura.
Laura was a sweet, warm and caring person, beautiful inside and out. I met her at Wiregrass Church many years ago. We were in a ladies small group together and also volunteered in Friends together. She will be greatly missed by many people.
Laura will be missed by many. My heartfelt prayers to her family, friends, and loved ones. May the peace that comes from our Father reside in the hearts of her family.

I am so saddened by the loss of my good friend and former coworker Laura Nelson Bateman. My utmost sympathy and deepest condolences go out to the family. She was so full of life and was a strong, caring person. She was always passionate about faith, family, health, teaching, and animals especially her dogs. I will always remember her from when I was a student at Girard Middle School and we always attended First Priority together every Wednesday. Our paths were fortunate enough to cross again when we both worked at the Wallace Community College Library together. She always called me kiddo and I will forever miss her laugh, her mother hen attitude towards me, her healthy eating rules, her health cooking tips, dog training tricks, fitness routines, nature walks, and her advice on life that she often schooled me on. I will miss her dearly and in her words as she would always say to me after I’d made a big decision or after a trying day at work... “Hey Kiddo... Good Luck... Hang in there...”
Laura was the kindest person I have ever known. She was beautiful inside and out. Our prayers are with this precious family!
Love you all!
