LD's obituary

Larry "LD" Winters, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2023. Born on October 11, 1937, LD was known for his love for God, his unwavering honesty, and his deep affection for his family. His zest for life and innate kindness left a significant impact on anyone lucky enough to know him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Winters, his cherished children, Earl Winters, Darla Trusty, Phoebe Greene, Jimmy Winters, Vicky Boykin, and Sandy Furniss, and step-daughter, Rita Harris. He also leaves behind his daughters-in-law, Valerie Winters, and sons-in-law, Bobby Boykin. His memory will be held close by his many friends, all of whom felt the warmth of his love and attention. He was predeceased by his son, Ronnie Winters, and his daughter Diane Hodges.

His life was characterized by humility and a devotion to serving others. After serving in the Navy as a young man, he continued to give back to his community as a Sheriff's Deputy. He was always the first to admit his mistakes, showcasing his firm belief in forgiveness and redemption as the true path to Heaven.

LD's legacy is a rare beacon of light, as he stood as a pillar of faith and love, reminding us all of God's mercy and grace. He was a special soul who's touching influence will be remembered and celebrated. A life well-lived, LD's wisdom and lessons will continue to guide those he left behind. His beautiful spirit will forever be cherished by his loved ones.
