There is a saying, “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a ride!” That’s how Larry lived his life.
Larry served in the U.S. Navy. He loved to play pool and weekly joined his fellow moles down in the mole hole to show them how it’s done. He also loved playing horseshoes and can even be remembered snapping bottle caps in his earlier days.
Susan and Larry were meant to be from the start. When they were 8 years old Larry moved to Lewiston. Susan was intrigued and wanted to meet the new boy in the neighborhood. As soon as she met him, she knew she was going to marry him. During the course of their 51-year marriage Larry and Susan lived many places but ultimately moved back to Lewiston where Susan still resides.
Larry always said that he didn’t want everyone standing around crying when he was gone. He wanted his family and friends to have a party around him.
We will celebrate Larry’s life with food, drink and our favorite stories on April 15, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at the Vienna Township Hall 2734 M-32 Johannesburg, MI.
