Larry's obituary

Larry's obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the departure of Larry Reliford on March 26, 2024. Born on January 14, 1956, Larry's life was one filled with love, laughter, and a profound dedication to his family and friends.

Larry leaves behind his beloved wife, Kathleen Reliford; his mother Betty Jo Reliford; his sisters Joanna (Lowell) Barcomb and Lucy (JC) Harvell. His legacy will continue through his children, Steven (Lee) Reliford, Jeffrey (Tina) Reliford, and Josh (Tiffany) Reliford, and Carla (Josh) Haygood; his stepdaughters, Rebecca (Bryan) Boldman and Katie (Chris) Bussey. Larry was a beloved grandfather to Ty Reliford, Ella Rosa Reliford, Grayson Haygood, Jon Haygood Michelle Hartigan, Clayton Matthew, Crystal Walker, Susan Boldman, Cadyn Bussey, and CJ Bussey. He was also a great grandfather to Rhykar Reliford, Oaklynn Blanton, and Finn Matthew.

A source of comfort is that he now joins his predeceased loved ones including his daughter, Janice Reliford; father, Doyle Reliford; and brother, William Reliford.

Lifelong passions of Larry included a love for country and old gospel music, a penchant for sweet tea and root beer, and an unwavering love for the great outdoors, especially fishing and spending time on the water. He often teased and gave Brian a hard time, all in good fun. He also enjoyed making special trips and always making sure he stopped by family members houses to say hello always bringing taffy or some sort of treat. He always had a big heart and loved to tease and joke around to others.

It was a common sight to see Larry surrounded by any variety of animals which he loved to take care of. His favorite vacation spots were the majestic mountains of Tennessee, where he found peace and serenity.

Larry’s celebration of life will be held on April 19th, at Mount Olive Baptist church in Union Grove at 3pm. A chance for all to gather, remember, and celebrate the man whose life was a testament to love, family, and friendship. His spirit, vibrancy, and love for life will continue to live on through his family and friends he held close to his heart.

As we commemorate the remarkable life of Larry, we share in the grief of his loss, but also in the joy of having known such a wonderful man. He will forever be remembered for his love for life, his infectious laugh, and the happiness and joyfulness he left behind with us all.
