Larry Willard Shope passed away on Jan 29, 2021 at Baptist Medical Center East after an extended illness. He was born in Calhoun, Georgia on Sept 26, 1939. He was preceded in death by his parents Dexter W. Shope and Estelle Wright Shope. His paternal grandparents David C and Ethel Shope, maternal grandparents Thomas and Mable Wright. He is survived by his children: Abbie Shope Dallin (Cyrus) and Timothy M. Shope (Miranda) both of Raleigh, NC; Bradley C. Shope (Leah) of Auburn, AL; Elizabeth Shope of Mobile, AL; and Alicia Shope White (Derek) of Opelika, AL. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be no services at this time. The family asks in lieu of flowers, please consider charitable donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or the Food Bank of East Alabama.
