Anyone that knows Dad (Larry Holyfield), knows he loved the outdoors; loved the forest; loved the people who spent time there and had a big heart for helping others.

He was passionate about Talladega National Forest, and we want to honor his love for the outdoors by donating to the recreational and educational opportunities created by Friend of the Talladega National Forest (a non-profit org).

Dad was also very keen to the struggles of others and often helped house or find housing for those in need. We want to also honor his memory, by opening for donations to Habitat for Humanity - Anniston, AL Chapter Contribute to Friends of Talladega National Forest Service

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Larry Holyfield, Sr., who left us peacefully on February 20, 2026.

Larry was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose strength, kindness, humor, and steady presence shaped the lives of all who knew him. Born on October 5, 1954 in Hobson City, AL, he grew up with a strong sense of family, integrity, and hard work—values he carried throughout his life.
