It is my to honor and celebrate the life of a remarkable man, a loving husband, a devoted father, and a talented craftsman. My friend Larry was more than just a carpenter; he was a builder of dreams, a creator of memories, and a pillar of strength for all who knew him.
To his family, he was the rock upon which their world was built. His love for his wife, Sandra, daughters Jennifer, Stephanie, granddaughter Eloise Elizabeth, and his beloved dog Scrappy knew no bounds. His presence brought warmth and light to their home. He worked tirelessly to provide for them, not just with his hands but with his heart, always putting their needs above his own.
As a carpenter, Larry had a gift for turning raw materials into works of art. Each piece he crafted was imbued with his passion and skill, a reflection of the care and attention he poured into everything he did. Whether it was a simple piece of furniture or a house, his craftsmanship was unmatched, a testament to his dedication and talent one in which his father Alvin and mother Stella instilled in him.
But beyond his workbench, Larry was a friend to me and to many, always ready with a helping hand or a listening ear. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued, and his presence brought joy and laughter to any gathering. His kindness and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts.
Though he may no longer be with us in body, Larry's spirit lives on in the love he shared, the memories he created, and the lives he touched.
Having known Larry for over 60 years and Sandra for not much less, memories abound. It was the the first time we me met. As we were waiting for the school bus Larry started laughing at me. I asked myself, who is this guy laughing at me? He said "you got your shoes on the wrong feet, ha, ha, ha". As I looked down, and to my horror, they were. Having rushed out of the house and not paying attention to what I was suppose to do correctly with my wardrobe, I inadvertently created a life long joke on me which bonded us as brothers for life. For years he would laugh about about my shoes on the wrong feet, but after that we laugh together about the world.
You will be sadly missed my brother Larry. Travel well on that cruise ship to the land of eternal life. You are with God.
