Larry's obituary
Larry Brewer, 70 years old, of Bakersfield California, passed away on January 10, 2022 after a short battle with Brain Cancer.
Larry was born on May 19th, 1951 to Ralph and Jean Brewer in Anderson, Indiana. After graduating from Anderson High school in 1969, He went on to work in the grocery store business, years later he found his dream job in remodeling homes. He always said that he will died with a hammer on his hand.
He moved to California in 1986 . In 1989, he met Myra Guillermo, and got married, moved to Bakersfield in 1992, were he loved the dry hot weather.
Larry was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of Nathan Brewer his 2 lbs baby, Darrell Silos-Brewer his brains, hair and boxers as he called him, and Myra Brewer his love and always tried his best to support them.
Larry was also a passionate about the Beatles, singing, playing instruments, writing and could often be found with a book in his hands.
Anyone who knew Larry knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Larry was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Jean Brewer. He is survived by his wife Myra (Guillermo) Brewer, sons Jason (Ricky) Brewer, Darrell Brewer, Nathan Brewer and daughter Charity (Chris) Schussler, brother Steve (Pat) Brewer, sister Charlotte (Gordon) Fuller, sister Debra (Rick) Joslin; eight grandchildren and one great grandson Hayden Linville. He also had a large in-law family were he was very involved and proud of the accomplishments of everyone.
Special thanks to Doctor Lama and staff, AIS Cancer Center, Bristol Hospice Nurses and his forever friend Charles Nott. Muchas Gracias to mother-in-law Juanita Magana and sisters-in-law Jenny (Hugo) Carrillo, Martha Ruiz, Reyna (Max) Dominguez and all nieces and nephews that took the time to make him smile everyday, never getting tired of listening to the Beatles, playing pool and making him feel loved up to the last minute.
There will be a memorial celebration of life at February 19, 2022 at 1:00 pm at his Rio Bravo home.
