Larry Dean Boyd February 8, 1951 - November 11, 2024

Larry Dean Boyd ,73, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 11, 2024 at the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Grapevine, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Max S. & Dorothy E. Boyd.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa (Tesa) Boyd; three children, Dena (Mark) McCabe of Knightdale, NC, Tom (Joan) Boyd of Pleasant Hill, IA, Sarah (Aaron) Carlock of Grapevine, TX; brother, Steven (Debra) of Anthem, AZ; sister, Tina (Tom) Sinnott of Waterloo, IA; four grandchildren, Roman Lorenzen of Spring Lake, NC, Devon Drugan of Knightdale, NC, Henry and Gus Carlock of Grapevine, TX; four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Olivia, Dorian, Levi; four nieces, Darcy, Michelle, Lisa, Anna; nephew, Ben; cousins Linda, Penny and Jimmy.

Larry attended Orange High School and studied at the University of Iowa for a time. He was a proud Ironworker, and worked construction for 40+ years. It was a job he loved, but he loved being a husband, Dad and Pops even more. He loved taking care of people and helping wherever he could. He was a diehard Iowa Hawkeyes fan and enjoyed grilling, fishing, and being with his dogs at Lake Grapevine.

A Celebration of Life is to be held on his birthday, February 8, 2025, at the Bessie Mitchell House at the Botanical Gardens 411 Ball St., Grapevine, TX 76051 at 6 p.m. Good stories and Hawkeye gear are encouraged.

If you would like to make a donation in his memory the family is requesting they be made to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital in Iowa City, IA, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or an animal shelter of your choosing.
