Sasha,

The impact you had on my life was incredible. You were almost like a sister to me in a way, and I will always remember you and hold you in my heart. I appreciate the work you did, your passion will always be truly inspirational. I have nothing bad to say about you. You were kind, loving, respectful, caring, and incredibly giving. I can't believe you're gone, and that I'll never be able to speak to you again. This grieving has already been very hard on me, I will miss you forever.

Until we meet again,

Ivory

My sincere condolences to Lane’s family. I served as his principal at ILTEXAS KSHS. Kane was a unique student that spoke up and challenged me. I appreciated his boldness! Rest in peace young man.

I won’t refer to her by her deadname, it feels wrong to do, and I won’t misgender her either. She asked me to call her Sasha, so that’s what I’m going to do. Sasha was one of my best friends, she was a bright burning bonfire in the world, she stood up for her beliefs and for her friends and made amazing music, there was so much to her that can’t properly be put into words. She was art and resistance and kindness all wrapped up into one person. I’m going to miss her laugh a lot. I will always hold a special place in my heart, mind and spirit for her. I wish I could be there to see you off, bean, I’ll miss you until we meet again someday.
