Kyro's obituary
Kyro Lee Carter, born on June 24, 2005, in Kearney, Nebraska, passed away on January 18, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was 19 years old.
Kyro was the beloved son of Paula Carter and the late Nathaniel Carter. He is survived by his mother; his sisters, Viera, Keira, Rilynn, and Rowen Carter; his cherished son, Skyler Taylor; and numerous family members and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Kyro has always had a kind spirit since he was born. He had an instant best friend when his younger sister was born two years after him. When he was little, he always loved to play outside and go on adventures, and find the perfect rock to add to his collection. Kyro always had a way of lighting up a room with his smile and could always be counted on to crack a joke at just the right moment.
When Kyro was growing up, he took on skateboarding as a hobby. He made it a goal to visit every skatepark that was in his area. When his family would vacation to different states, he would make them stop to try out the skateparks along the way. He even taught his little sister Rowen how to skate with him and they experienced many memories together with a shared love of the hobby. Kyro will always be her inspiration.
Similar to his love for skateboarding, he also enjoyed snowboarding during the winter time and often brought his friends along.
Kyro will be remembered for his unwavering kindness and generosity. As a father, Kyro found immense joy in his son Skyler, who was the light of his life. His compassion extended not only to those around him but also to animals, reflecting his deeply caring nature. He rescued many animals even from a young age, ranging from a large dog to a tiny mouse. He truly cared so much for everything and everyone.
An exceptional athlete, Kyro earned numerous awards in track, basketball, and football. His infectious spirit and positive attitude brought energy and enthusiasm to every game he played. His dedication, sportsmanship, and remarkable achievements in these sports left a lasting impression on teammates, coaches, and all who had the privilege of watching him compete. Kyro always fought hard for what he had and it paid off.
Despite facing a long battle with mental health challenges and managing a chronic illness, Kyro’s strength and resilience shone through. He always managed to keep a smile on his face, inspiring those around him with his courage.
A private ceremony for immediate family will be held at a later date to honor Kyro.
Kyro’s memory will live on forever in our hearts, and his legacy of kindness, love, and joy will continue to inspire all who knew him.
