Kyle's obituary
Kyle attended Oklahoma State University and received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following in his father’s footsteps, he began his career at Phillips as an engineer but ultimately moved his growing family to St. Louis, Missouri to change paths and become a commodities trader. This led him to a very successful career in Houston, Texas where he raised his three children. Kyle met the love of his life, Lisa, in 2002 and created a beautiful, blended family.
Kyle was an extraordinary husband, father and friend. His life was a wonderful example for his children; he continued to teach them how to live even during the most trying time, accepting all of life’s most difficult challenges with unwavering optimism and selfless love. Kyle never met a stranger and was loved by all that were fortunate enough to meet him. His life revolved around his family and being Papa to his six grandchildren.
For Kyle, there were no rules in life, just suggestions. He constantly pushed boundaries in seek of thrill. He loved to skydive, ride the fastest roller coasters and take joy rides on his motorcycle. Kyle was gifted with both an analytical mind and impeccable craftsmanship. He had a love for woodwork, building and getting his hands dirty. Kyle was a patient teacher and always willing to lend a hand. If you ever had a question, he was your first phone call; there was never a situation he couldn’t fix. Kyle’s kind heart and positive attitude were admired by all that knew him. He will be greatly missed.
Kyle is survived by his wife, Lisa Lansford, and children, Chase Lansford (Stephanie Lansford), Cole Lansford, Courtney Damm (Aaron Damm), Linsay Ferreira (Leo Ferreira), and Rachelle Richardson (Chris Richardson), his six grandchildren Elliott Lansford (Chase and Stephanie), Owen Damm (Courtney and Aaron), Alexander and Olivia Ferreira (Linsay and Leo), Gavin and Blake Richardson (Rachelle and Chris). Kyle is also survived by his mother, Harriett Lansford, his three siblings, Doug Lansford (Vicki Lansford), Randy Lansford (Marie Lansford), and Debbie Lansford. Kyle was reunited with his father, Oris Lansford, upon his passing.
We will celebrate Kyle’s life in a memorial service on Wednesday, August 7th at 1 p.m. at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer Rd, Houston, Texas, 77027.
