Brian and family,

I recently became

aware of Kyle's passing.   For all I am grateful for, knowing Kyle and having the opportunity to be a part of his high school years will always be special memories in my life.  All the goodness in Kyle's life is reason for celebration.  My thoughts and prayers are for you Brian and your beautiful family.

Last day in Morocco was my birthday. Kyle showed up that morning with a convenience store crème brulee and a birthday candle for me.

Kyle was a phenomenal pilot, …
Kyle was a phenomenal pilot, incredibly kind, and loved his family deeply. He was the type of person people were excited to work with as his friendship was given freely with him expecting nothing in return.
I spent over 2 days just in flight with Kyle! I was looking back at some of those flights. We certainly had some memorable times in the air and on the ground.  From the exploding MRAP on an LZ in the African desert, to the Cameroonian air traffic controller we tried to befriend while bored waiting for cargo, to me forgetting to pack shorts for our trip to Bulgaria and having to raid an H&M in downtown Plovdiv with Kyle as my wingman.  Kyle was a great crew member, always eager to learn and to fly, and I always enjoyed our flights and trips together.  You will definitely be missed and I'm definitely a better person for having known you.  A toast...
My deepest sympathy and abundant prayers to the Holzem family. What a remarkable man he was, and he made such a positive impact in the world.
Sending my sincere condolences to all of Kyles loved ones! My daughter and son were friends with Kassandra & Kyle! So sad to hear of this loss & passing!
We did not have the honor of knowing Kyle, but do know Kassandra and know what an amazing man he was from her.  So much love and prayers to all of you for now and forever.
One of my favorite memory of Kyle was when he’d sneak his friends and co-workers  special chocolate and fudge deliveries that he’d receive in the mail. He’d cover up the goodies with paper plates, then text us that the secret stash had arrived before the mass of the squadron would devour the treats. Truly a phenomenal human being who will be deeply missed by his Bluetail and Raven communities.
We are so incredibly sorry for your loss. Wishing you some comfort and peace in these days and weeks to come.
I had the pleasure of flying with Kyle on my last flight to West Africa in 2018. We flew through the Canary Islands to Niamey, Niger. We got retasked to fly to Ouagadougou to pick up a crew who broke down. On our way back, the Spanish Air Force did a practice intercept on us! It was awesome getting to know him on a personal level and having that shared experience with him. I'll never forget his laid back personality and eagerness to get better professionally. Our condolences go out to his family. Once a Blue Tail, always a Blue Tail.
Kyle was an incredibly genuine airman with a kind heart and infectious personality.  It was an honor to have served with him. My heartfelt condolences to the entire Holzem family.
