Rich's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kyle "Rich" Gorman, better known as Rich, on July 16th, 2024. Born on July 31st, 1944, Rich lived a full and accomplished life, touching many along the way with his vibrant personality.
Rich attended Hilltop High School, Claire Avenue, Chula Vista, CA, graduating in 1962, and he continued to pursue his passion for education, graduating from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School, Los Angeles, Center Drive, Los Angeles, CA in 1975.
Kyle was predeceased by his parents, Wells and Martha Gorman. He is survived by his son, Christopher Gorman, and his sisters, Jane Kitson and Susan Wynne, all of whom will miss him dearly.
Rich was a man who loved to invest his time and energy into others. He was personable and funny, enjoying every moment spent with family and friends. His love for his family was clear to all who met him, as evidenced by his dedicated phone calls to his sisters every Mother's Day.
Rich's accomplishments were numerous. Not only did he work as a detective for the Palm Springs Police Department, but he also had the unique experience of working for musicians Lionel Richie and Kenny Rogers. He owned his own business. His artful hand was seen in his woodworking and stained glass artwork, creating beautiful pieces that will continue to be cherished.
Rich also shared his knowledge and love for the game as a high school baseball coach. This role allowed him to shape young minds and impart some of the wisdom he had gathered over the years.
Rich's legacy will be one of friendship and meaningful investment in others. His impact on those he met is immeasurable and he will be deeply missed. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a beloved father, brother, mentor, and friend.
