I enjoyed the many Duck games and Super Bowls spent with Kurt. Exchanging books and stories always brought me joy. I will miss Kurt deeply.

Elena, We are so sorry for your loss. Kurt was an amazing human. We remember when he came into your life and the joy that it brought you. We remember celebrating your wedding and are so happy you had so many great years together. With love and hugs, Amy and Ross
We felt an instant connection to you both at Ali and Andrew’s wedding.  I am so very sad to hear of Kurt’s passing.  May all of your memories comfort you during this difficult time.  Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.  Love, Kristi Eidem❤️

 September 5th, 1995

I attended a group camping trip with my friend Mary. Her Mom belonged to a Dive club out of Livermore, California. I was excited to go with her, as she asked me every year to go. This year I was single. There was about 40 or so campers I met that trip. Most were divers and Abalone hunting and fishing were the main event.

We were at the campground and I saw this handsome man carrying a box of corn. I witnessed many hugs and hellos to this guy named Kurt. And I thought to myself. This must be a really nice guy.

He introduced himself and we started chatting and realized we had a lot of things in common. We basically spent the rest of the weekend getting to know each other. He was kind, funny and up for an adventure. That camping trip was the beginning of our life together.

We loved each other through the bad times, We loved each other when we made no sense. We loved each other when either of us were bat shit crazy. He loved me when I didn't love myself.  He lifted me up like no other person could. Kurt honored me as his wife with unconditional love and respect like no other.

I thank-you for all the adventures in our time together my dear husband.

We had a good run at it until the hubcaps fell off.......

I love you baby,

your wifey,

Elena
