I just found this page and now wish to offer my condolences here. We met Kurt, Susan, and the kids in our neighborhood shortly after we moved to Cumming from Illinois in April 1999. My boys loved Kurt and his family. We have nothing but great memories with all of them. RIP Kurt! You always helped me whenever I asked.
Susan, Wes and Nicki, I just saw this today and am so heartbroken! 💔 John just got in and I told him about it. We’ve been sitting here thinking about how we met you all from when your basement in your house in Cumming flooded and you called Complete Water, not knowing us at the time, to come check your house out and how John and our crew (along with myself) worked, if not 24 hrs then maybe even close to 30 hrs straight to get it ready for the adjuster to come out the following morning at 9:00am and John finished up around 7:00am and fell asleep in your living room floor. While I was giving him a few minutes to catch a quick nap before we went home so he could shower and come back by 9:00 to meet the adjuster and he was so exhausted that Wes’s dog kept messing with him to the extent of grabbing the end of his jeans wanting to play and shaking the leg of them like a rag doll and it not even phasing
John. I started videoing with my phone as Susan, Kurt & I were just laughing watching!
That dog was pulling so hard that we could finally hear John’s jeans rip and he continuously pulled and shook and John never budged!! He would walk up & be all in John’s face wanting to play but NOTHING! I still have that video so as soon as I find it I’ll post it! John finally got up around 8:00am (thank goodness we lived right up the street) we left, he showered & made it back in time to meet the adjuster! That was the first day
our friendship began and the first of many
good times just hanging out and talking and laughing and meeting Wes and Nicki (I know I’m spelling that wrong...sorry!) and your first grandbaby (Nicki’s precious boy..Jacob!) After that we ALL had some laughs at different times as well as deep, heartfelt and serious conversations too. We were around during A LOT of Kurt’s and all of your hard times due to his poor health and always felt it was so unfair and so harsh!! No matter how bad he may have been feeling we ALWAYS left your house talking about what a great time we had hanging out with you guys and how glad we were that we had met you!! I honestly believe we had that same conversation EVERY time we left your house heading home! You all felt like family and made us feel so comfortable and welcome!! Thank you so much. I can’t imagine how you all must be feeling but I know from seeing it for myself that your family is so close and so full of love for each other! We remember talking to Kurt about how proud and how much he loved all of his kids and Susan and there was never a time that Wes and Nicki seemed like they were anyone but Kurt’s! He loved you all and his grand baby (Jacob) just the one was born at the time so much and made it very obvious! Just the site of you put a smile on his face. It’s been a long time and and we know Kurt struggled with this for a very long time! We send our deepest and sincerest condolences and please know you’re all in our prayers!! We hope you’re all okay and miss seeing your smiling faces!! Going through (okay stalking) your Facebook pages) you all look great and have beautiful families (and babies!) Your smiles are still
contagious and we know Kurt is in a much better place and not having to suffer (along
with yourselves) any longer! He truly will
always be remembered as one of the nicest people we’ve ever known! Just a good, funny, loving, down to earth guy we’re so thankful to have met and spent time with!

With so much love,

John and Tracey Henderson

Kurt was like a second father figure to me. He was always there if I ever needed him and I was always there for him. We shared so many laughs, cries and amazing hugs. He heard about someone being attacked on my walking path and made me a safety belt just because he cared about my wellbeing. He was an incredible human being with a beautiful heart and I will miss him severely. My daughter was born on his birthday this year , so every year we will celebrate her and Kurt on April 30th❤️ I love you so much Kurt. Please watch over all of your loved ones and guide them during this time without you.
Kurt was always like a second father to me. I looked up to him and treasure the time I did get to spend with him. Love you dude please watch out for us down here 🙏🏼
Susan and Kurt on the screene…
2008, Our home in Cumming GA
Susan and Kurt on the screened in porch on Pine Lake Dr.
In 1995, I was living in Cumming GA and my neighbor was Kurt's mom, LaRue. Kurt was living in Nashville TN with his brother, Keith, having just moved there from Los Angeles CA. Kurt was visiting his mom one weekend and cooking out on the grill on her back deck. My kids, who were 5 and 3 at the time, kept going over there to eat the shrimp that Kurt was cooking. I hollered over and told him to send my kids home if they were bothering him and he said they weren't and that he loved kids. My daughter, Niki, really found Kurt for us. He asked her if her mommy had eyes as pretty as hers and she came running home to give me all the details about him. She said his name was "Kuwt" (she couldn't pronounce her r's) and that he lived in "Ashville". Anyway, a couple days later, I was talking to Kurt's mom and she asked me if I was involved in a relationship with anyone. She said that her son was I interested in meeting me. I told her that I was single and gave her my phone number if Kurt might want to call me. So, he did, and we began dating long distance for about a year and a half, until he moved to Georgia, initially with his mom. Kurt and I moved in together in 1997. We lived together for 13 years before getting married in 2010.
