Kuntumi Bundu, age 62, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, in Dumfries, Virginia. Born on June 21, 1962, in Kenema, she lived a life marked by compassion, resilience, and unwavering dedication to those around her.

A devoted nurse by profession, Kuntumi committed herself to the care and well-being of others throughout her career. Her work was not just a job but a calling---one that reflected her deep empathy and tireless spirit. Whether tending to patients or offering comfort to families in need, she brought warmth and strengthto every room she entered.

Kuntumi was a loving wife to  Dauda Bundu and a cherished mother to their children: Umu Bundu, Alpha Bundu, and Rugie Bundu. Her family was the heart of her world. She nurtured them with boundless love and guided them with wisdom drawn from both experience and faith.

Rooted in her Islamic beliefs, Kuntumi lived a life of service and humility. Her faith informed those who knew her. She was known for her creativity and strength--qualities that shone through in the way she supported her loved ones and uplifted those around her.

To many, Kuntumi was more than amother or partner; she was a friend whose presence brought comfort and joy. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched--with kindness offered freely and love given unconditionally. 

The family requests that all flowers and notes be sent to the Badr Community Center. There will be a funeral service/memorial/celebration of life on December 26th, 2025, at Badr Community Center at 02:00 PM.
