Kristine Cavin Smith Obituary
Kristine Smith Cavin, a third generation Atlantan, Legacy Partner with Smith, Cavin and Corbin specializing in real estate law, passed away surrounded by loving family members following a brief illness. She was born in Atlanta on March 26, 1969 to Richard Theodore and Sherri Nash Smith. She graduated from The Westminster Schools, obtained her B.A. from Furman University, and her J.D. from California Western School of Law. She is survived by her loving husband James, her three sons Douglas, Emory, and Robert, her loving parents Richard and Sherri, her brother Ted and his wife Kristen, her former sister-in-law Lisa Anyan Smith, her Uncle Bill Nash, her Aunt Linda and Uncle Gary Cook, numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members along with a large circle of friends and professional associates. A devoted mother, Kristine was a supportive and active participant in her sons' academic and sports activities both during their years at Wesleyan School and in various travel leagues. She was a past President of the Georgia Real Estate Closing Attorneys Association, Georgia Counsel for Lennar Homes and its related companies, and represented several real estate brokerage companies and lenders, as well as national residential relocation companies. Kristine was predeceased by her sister and closest friend Lori Smith Rettig. Kristine was unique and a tireless advocate for those she held close. She was happiest surrounded by family whether it was cooking, gardening or exploring new locations on many memorable family trips. Kristine was a special and cherished member of her family and community and will be missed by all. Services will be private.
